Women responsible to get raped?
July 26, 2008
Rape never needs a victim to describe it, a culprit to show it, and a master to do it! It is simply sex without consent.Ifs and buts in the definition of rape are added by only those who try to run away from becoming a culprit! I had read an article in a national newspaper, the author of which at several instances mentions the point that the victims of rape are partly or fully responsible for getting raped. The reasons mentioned more or less are all focussed towards the clothes worn by the non-masculine gender. It simply puts out saying,”The more they expose themselves, the more they are prone to get raped”.There is another way of putting the entire thing,”It is a right for men to rape women, if they are not dressed well”. Doesn’t this statement still implicitly mention that,”Women are the weaker sex”,”Men can get immoral, and can cross the limits”. How mean? ….How can anyone blame the victims? How can anyone stop women from dressing up the way they want to? Now let me also not rule out the point that there are few women who openly flirt, who constantly expose themselves to the masculine gender, and no doubt they eventually enjoy it! This lands us to a conclusion that, there are two types of women. The first type of women get dressed up as per their taste, traditions, trend etc.The second type of women, want to put themselves in situation where they get lots of attention from boys, and the only way they do it, is by exposing the piece of meat they own.I have no regrets for the second type of women, and i never encourage what they do, and i never support their immoral ambitions.Because, it is not the dress which is responsible for they becoming the victims, but is their attitude which lands them in a dangerous situation. But what about the first type? Everyone has the right to talk, to express, to live, and also to wear what they want to.It eventually sends out wrong signals to the society, and ultimately weakens the position of women further. In a European country, awareness is being spread , on how women are directly or indirectly responsible for getting raped.I totally find this unnecessary, since any country trying to protect the gender quality, and trying to protect the status of women in the society, should try spreading awareness saying that women deserve an equal status along with men, and it is everyone’s responsibility to protect them.It is also the country’s responsibility to protect their people from becoming victims of unscrupulous activities.
In the end, i can put the whole thing in a single sentence:
“If you have sex with a woman without her consent(irrespective of how she dresses), it simply means that you have raped her”
