Gandhiji should have had a fourth monkey!!!

with 3 comments

We are well aware of what gandhi told us to do: Hear no evil, See no evil, Speak no evil. But why didn’t Gandhi add a fourth monkey and said “Don’t commit evil”?

If you have read this post, please take some time to go through the comments also. Thanks :)

Barack Obama, Chiranjeevi and me!

Barack Obama: Change should happen from bottom to top.

Chiranjeevi: Change should happen from top to bottom.

Sriwidu: If change starts from the middle and happens in both the directions simultaneously, it will happen twice faster …!

The way you work!

without comments

One of my managers asked me retain this statement through out my life:

“We have to work hard. But we should not work so hard that work takes over us…Hum kho Ghoda jaisa kaam karna hai, gadhe jaisa nahi.Ghoda sirf race ke time pe baagh thi hai, aur usko bahut jyaada care milti hai….gadha dhin bhar kaam karti hai…phirbhi who gadha hi hota hai”

P.S: I am very poor at hindi…Just get the underlying meaning…more than enuf :-)

Chiranjeevi announces Praja Rajyam :-)

without comments

Yes, the much talked about political vacuum does exist, and chiranjeevi has proved it.A dream of millions to see their star transform into a leader has finally taken its roots in the form of a historical gathering at tirupati today. It is historical for the very reason that it unearthed the thirst for change , something which can only be proved by the test of power in the next elections.

He started by saying: “These eyes of mine are blessed to witness a sight like this”…and he was right!!!

The launch of “Praja Rajyam” in the middle of a very emotional speech by chiranjeevi before a massive gathering of 10 lakh odd people must have brought pain to the already existing leaders. The whole thing resembled the launch of his latest Blockbuster for the very reason that it did have lots of filmy characteristics, but such a thing was indispensable for what his fans have gone through. After all-their anxiety, patience and desire to see their star turn into a political hero is next to none.

What impressed me about chiranjeevi was the following :

1) He promised top priority to the farmers, universal access to good education and health care to all the people on the lines of developed countries.

2)The way he presented himself as a person who experienced the difficulties and luxuries in various phases of life!

3) He said, “Naaku benju gurinchi telsu, naaku ganji gurinchi telsu”.(I’m impressed).

4) It was you people Who called me into politics. It has to be ruled by the people for the people.

5) Samajika Nyayam.

However, Every statement he made was generalized with no focus on individual elements such as Pending Projects, Telangana issue, Terrorism,Farmerssuicides in Andhra Pradesh etc.

Is this diplomacy in refined form or a clear cut indication of lack in clarity of thought.

Time can only prove and justify-”Praja Rajyam”.If it fails to do so, then the vacuum remains unoccupied…I hope not.

Chiru…Best of luck!!!

Corporate Linguistics???

without comments

It is always tough to walk the talk when you are in the presence of people who can make a difference in your lives. We face many circumstances where we cease to say what we actually want to and we end up saying something else. What I’ve observed in these few months of my corporate exposure is that people get embarrassed, feel shy, hesitate to speak frankly. In this post, i shall keep adding points to the below list as time passes. All the cases mentioned below are outcomes of my time pass observations over a period of time. These are the cases where people mean something and they say something else. Here are few cases which I’ve observed:

1) Do you want to do this piece of work?

Implies–> I don’t want to do this.You do it.

2) Nee Ishtam (Your wish)

Implies–> He/She didn’t like what you’ve suggested or what you want to do.

3) I am busy this weekend.

Implies–> Lite. They are absolutely free.Working Men/Women are so desperate to spend time for themselves during their weekends that this statement becomes the most common lie….

4) I don’t like this job, I don’t like this environment, I don’t like people here, everyone has a problem.

Implies–> People who are lazy, inefficient, dull, morons say this. They can never struggle to find a job they desire to do, they are highly inefficient to fit into their desired job.If they really had a problem, they would have left long back.So they keep saying all this to substantiate themselves. They hardly work cuz they don’t want to work, and it is a kind of preventive measure to put themselves on a safer side.

5)  I’ll get back in two minutes (*Supposedly the funniest thing i have ever heard*).

Implies–> I am going to the Loo.

6) If a girl focuses on all the negatives in some other girl.

Implies–> She is too jealous of her, and is worried about the exponential decrease in attention which she claims to own.

7) offooooo. You are great. You are the next in line for promotion.congrats future “……”.

Implies-> Same as the above answer.Replace ’she’ with ‘He/She’.

8 ) How is life?

Implies-> The person saying the above has nothing to talk, and is evidently out of topics.He/She wants you to shut, sit and start working.

There is no sneaking today!

without comments

It is very difficult for any individual to spend time during office hours,  especially if he or she is working in the night and has no work. But it’s their job, and that’s what they do for a living. So what do ppl do in such unavoidable situations? They find ways to beat boredom…they find ways to pass time…the most creative ones make their presence interesting and start looking at things in a different way.I have seen ppl doing the following things: chatting, blogging, watching videos, listening to music, flirting, eating, sleeping and fighting.I did one of these yesterday..and phewwwwww.Everything blew apart.Things went wrong when our team members were chatting with each other using the official communicator provided in the office…and i, typed something and posted the same in a wrong chat channel.Well, humans make mistakes…and what’s the big deal?

That was the most utterly random and silliest thing i have ever done in my office for the following reasons:

1) Unknowingly i typed a sentence in a communication channel(something like conference) which is never considered to be ordinary. The reason being: All the operations managers, Associate Directors and Directors have their eyes on it 24*7.

2) I typed: “There is no sneaking today!” . In a company where confidentiality is the only thing which matters,a sentence cannot get creepier than this!

And tomorrow…Do i need to face the wrath?? Hopefully not!
