Training at Infosys Mysore.

Everything that glitters is not gold, and every place that looks stunning on the surface is not heaven! Infosys, Mysore is one such place.Not surprisingly, the very sight of the entire place in my mind makes some eerie feeling creep in…

Below are some facts :

1) The place is well planned and beautifully built.If you had never been to such a place, then you shall turn dumb as soon as you see the campus on your first day.

2) Infosys, Mysore- I shall say, is completely devoid of pollution with greenery all around.Keeping the place neat, tidy and green would be the top most priority for people who maintain this place.No matter who you are, if you are found endangering any entity belonging to this place, don’t wonder if you are imposed with hefty fine or some strange act is taken against you.

3) Facilities provided are many.You will be awarded with so many facilities that 24 hours in day might look insufficient to enjoy each and every thing provided to you.

4) Accommodation would be the greatest,you will be provided with proper air conditioned rooms, well arranged bedding, a television, a phone, your furniture …in fact everything you need! You are simply a king!The very new hostel being provided has individual rooms for each and every trainee, whereas the previous ones where double bed room flats.

5) Everything is not free my dear friends, some amount would be deducted from your salary.But, that would look trifle in front of the facilities provided to you.

6) Yes, you can take your i pods, laptops, cellphones to the campus, but don’t ever enter the Global Education Centre with them.

7) We have been accustomed to Engineering Style of Studies.Trying to figure out what is there in the subject, trying to read the entire thing, and trying to revise what all you have read-All in a single day! However, this is not advisable during training.Training would be damn hectic, it sounds even more hectic if you are lazy.Simple fundas to clear your tests:

–> Stick to the material provided.

–> Don’t ever miss a single point assuming that it might not appear in the exam.

–> Read each and every point with utmost care, and try to memorize them.

–> Don’t every copy your projects.I had trainees beside me, who were easily caught and awarded a zero! Eventually, it affected their CGPA, and they were asked to leave the company.

Try to complete your project as soon as possible, don’t postpone, even if you have plenty of time.The last minute tension is just unbearable, and your project work might impact gradings for the entire team as well.

8 ) Even if you have been a topper during your college days, be prepared for the worst case scenarios; Keep your options open, since securing a job doesn’t necessarily mean that you have reached the pinnacle of your career!

9) If you are a techie, and are interested in one particular stream like Java, Mainframes, .net etc…then change your mindset….brothers and sisters you just be prepared for everything…Since, your allotment to a pariticular stream is entirely in the hands of your batch owner, and you don’t have another option! So better be flexible enough.Being flexible is always good these days:-)

P.S: Other rules like drinking not allowed bla bla bla…are basic things- however, you’ll have exclusive smoking zones! Those were the places where i loved to be always….! Above all, You can get some real good friends over there, if things go wrong you can lose some already exisiting friends also!!!! Take care, Your managers and batch owners will have no mercy on you to help you clear the training! You will be just another creature for them , as they are always ready to kick you out of the campus!
